PlayNow.com and the law
In British Columbia, gambling is legal only when the provincial government runs it. PlayNow.com, run by BCLC, is the only legal online gambling site in the province. The regulator is the Independent Gambling Control Office, or IGCO, which replaced GPEB on April 13, 2026. The IGCO says that all other online gambling sites accepting BC players operate illegally in BC.
The legal age is 19, for online play as well as casinos and bingo. Treasure Cove Casino & Bingo runs under BCLC policies, procedures and standards. PlayNow.com is run by BCLC itself. Every other site accepting BC players is outside the law here.
What a private site does not have
A private online casino has none of the British Columbia protections. PlayNow limits do not apply there. Game Break self-exclusion does not reach it either, and complaints about it cannot go to the provincial regulator.
Game Break covers casinos and PlayNow.com, not private sites. People enrol in person at any casino or bingo hall with government-issued photo ID. Terms are 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. The term cannot be changed once chosen. Excluding from casinos also excludes from PlayNow.com for the same period.
How the Field Sheet is paid
The Field Sheet is an independent guide, not a casino and not the casino's own site. It takes no bets and has no accounts. Paid links appear on the home page only, marked Ad. There are three: a button in the menu, a block just below the first screen and a block near the end.
All three lead to one private online casino partner. That partner pays the Field Sheet a commission and can change. It is not PlayNow.com and is not run by Treasure Cove Casino & Bingo.
